Tension were very high when Vic Falls Tigers faced Amagagasi in Zimbabwe’s Southern Region division one on Sunday afternoon.

The referee was officiating a match between Amagagasi and Vic Falls Tigers when he sent off a player with a straight red card.

The player didn’t agree with the referee’s decision to send him off the field and retaliated.

The official didn’t back down and fought back, the referee threw a few punches in the direction of the player before the assistant referee and players intervened to stop the fight.

German Goalkeeper Arrested For Conceding 43 Goals In One Match

German Goalkeeper, Marco Kwiotek has been arrested by the police for conceding 43 goals in one match which saw his team SV Vonderort smashed by their local rivals PSV Oberhausen 43-0

The goalkeeper was picked during a training session after his team lost the game.

The score was 35-0 at halftime, and at one point Vonderort, a German team consisting of refugees from Syria, Iraq and Guinea were only able to field eight players. 

PSV Oberhausen felt so bad about the squared that they took off three of their own players just to even up the numbers.

Five days after the game, the police showed up at Vonderort training and arrested Kwiotek. The police gave no reason for his arrest. 

However, Kwiotek was quoted saying “They just want to clear some things up” as they took him away. But he hasn’t been seen since. 

There is also some speculations the goalkeeper could have been arrested for match-fixing, but police have refused to comment on why he was arrested.

The German legend reminisces about the former Nigeria international's sensational goal after 23 years

Oliver Kahn has disclosed that he is yet to recover from the wonder goal he conceded against Nigeria's Austin Jay Jay Okocha in a Bundesliga fixture between Eintracht Frankfurt  and Karlsruhe in 1993.

Okocha who came on as a second half substitute for Eintracht Frankfurt provided an assist and scored his wonder goal, by dribbling the entire back-line of Karlsruhe before slotting the ball past Kahn to secure a 3-1 win.

The former Bayern Munich skipper paid a tribute to the Nigerian legend as he recalled the encounter exactly 23 years after on his Twitter page.

"Exactly 23 years is the sensational goal from Jay-Jay Okocha today ago - and I'm still dizzy ...," kahn tweeted.

The goal was voted as 1993 Goal of the year by viewers of Sportschau (an ARD German TV sports programme).

Usain Bolt, Most Decorated Sprinter Of All Time

Usain Bolt is one of the most watched athletes of all time. Born 30 years ago, the Jamaican sprinter has been regarded as the fastest human ever lived. He is the first man to hold both the 100 metres and 200 metres world records since fully automatic time became mandatory.

He also holds the world record as a part of the 4×100m relay. He is the reigning World and Olympic champion in these three events and the most successful sprinter in history.

A nine-time Olympic gold medallist, Bolt won the 100m, 200m and 4×100m relay at three consecutive Olympic Games. He gained worldwide popularity for his double sprint victory at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in world record times. Bolt was the first to win consecutive Olympic 100m and 200m titles (2008 and 2012).

An eleven-time World Champion, he won consecutive World Championship 100m, 200m and 4×100m relay gold medals from 2009 to 2015, with the exception of a 100m false start in 2011. He is the most successful athlete of the World Championships and was the first athlete to win three titles in both the 100m and 200m at the competition.

Usain Bolt is ending his Olympic career by claiming an unprecedented “triple triple” and his ninth gold at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

His achievements in sprinting have earned him the media nickname, “Lightning Bolt,” and his awards include the International Association of Athletics Federations World Athlete of the Year, Track & Field Athlete of the Year, and Laureus World Sportsman of the Year (three times). He has stated that he intends to retire from athletics after the 2017 World Championships.

The Jamaican sprinter is in a class of his own in terms of his marketing prowess. His competitors are not his fellow track stars, but global icons like Argentine football star Lionel Messi, American basketball star LeBron James and Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Bolt has 10 global partners, along with seven regional ones. Sportswear maker, Puma, is his biggest backer with a deal worth north of $10m (N3.4bn) a year.

His relationship with Puma started way back in 2002, and his $10m-a-year deal is by far the most lucrative in athletics.

So far in 2016, he has made $32.5m (N11.1bn) in earnings — $2.5m (N850m) from winnings and $30m (N10.2bn) from endorsements.

He is the only track star who made it onto the Forbes list of highest-paid athletes, coming in at No. 32.

His other sponsors include the watchmaker Hublot as well as Gatorade and Virgin Media, with deals ranging in value from $1m (N340m) to $4m (N1.4bn).

Prize money in athletics events is relatively low. Though he earns $10,000 (N3.4m) for every race he wins in the Diamond League, he is often paid appearance fees of up to $400,000 (N136m) per meet.

Another big earner for the Jamaican athlete comes from Bolt’s character in the Temple Run mobile gaming franchise, which has more than a billion downloads.

Homes and cars

Despite his international success, his main base is not far from home. One of Bolt’s biggest purchases is his mansion in the Norbrook housing complex in Kingston, Jamaica, which he bought at an undisclosed figure.

In 2009, he also bought a home in Rum Cay Island in the Bahamas for an unknown fee. He only described the home as “magnificent.”

It makes sense that the world’s fastest man enjoys reaching high speeds on the road. One of the track star’s most lavish purchases is a $105,000 (N36m) black Nissan GT-R.

Never content with just one, Bolt also owns a special-edition gold GT-R. This one, however, was given to him by Nissan after he won three gold medals at the London Olympics in 2012.

The ace sprinter has also been spotted driving a Ferrari F430, which costs $217,000 (N73.8m).

Bolt was also given a blue coloured BMW M3 by Puma, his principal sponsor, sometime ago.

As well as hard partying and luxury purchases, he also gives back to his community as he regularly donates sports equipment to his alma mater and other various community projects in his country.

One of his biggest hobbies is music. He has been performing DJ sets in public since 2010.

When it is time to travel around the world — including hanging out with lots of famous figures, including British royal, Prince Harry — Bolt travels in style, often by a private jet.

Chinese Government May Buy Liverpool For $1billion

Premier League giants Liverpool are the target of an 800 million pounds ($1 billion, 924 million euros) takeover bid backed by the Chinese government, British newspaper the Sunday Times reported.

China Everbright, a state-backed financial firm, are leading the bid, backed by the country’s main sovereign wealth fund, the China Investment Corporation (CIC), the paper said.

Talks between the Chinese group and Liverpool’s American owners, the Fenway Sports Group (FSG), are ongoing, the Sunday Times said.

But a senior Liverpool source told AFP that although the club was open to outside investment, FSG was not in talks and the club was not the subject of a bid. 

On Friday, Liverpool chairman Tom Werner said the club was “not for sale”, but admitted FSG were open to the idea of selling a stake. FSG bought Liverpool for around 300 million pounds in 2010. 

China has been making inroads in English football in recent months. Earlier this month, Liverpool’s Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion announced a deal to sell the club to a Chinese investment group headed by entrepreneur Guochuan Lai. Second-tier clubs Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers, both of whom play in the same Midlands region as West Brom, have both been taken over by Chinese investors. 

Wolves were bought by Fosun International, while Chinese businessman Tony Xia took charge of Villa. Birmingham City, another Midlands clubs, are currently in talks with Asian investors seeking to buy the club from Hong Kong businessman Carson Yeung, who was jailed for money-laundering in 2014. 

Meanwhile, Manchester City announced a 265 million pounds investment deal with Chinese consortium CMC last December. Liverpool, managed by Jurgen Klopp, were beaten 2-0 at Burnley in their second league game of the season on Saturday, having won 4-3 at Arsenal in their opening fixture.

Japanese Surgeon Redeems Pledge, Gives Nigeria Under-23 Team $390,000 For Winning Olympic Bronze

A Japanese surgeon, billionaire Katsuya Takasu gave the Nigeria Olympic football team, Dream Team VI, cash rewards for winning a bronze medal for Nigeria having defeated Honduras 3-2. 

The plastic surgeon made a pledge, totaling $390,000.

Earlier on Saturday, a former Super Eagles goalkeeper and football analyst, Peterside Idah, had raised the alarm that Nigeria Football Federation officials had hijacked the donation made by the Japanese doctor.

The NFF denied the allegation.

Mr.Idah later confirmed that Mr. Takasu had made the donation directly to the beneficiaries at their hotel.

“All is well,” Mr Idah tweeted. “Two cheques have just been handed over to the team. One in Samson Siasia’s name, and the other made out to the name of Mikel.”

In an earlier interview, Mr. Takasu said he made the donation to the players after hearing about their financial crisis.

“I read about the financial problems affecting the team and I felt the need to make a big contribution,” Mr. Takasu told the BBC earlier this week.

A Japanese plastic surgeon Katsuya Takasu who says he's fallen in love with the Nigeria's Under 23 team at Rio Olympics has promised to give each player of the squad $30,000 if they win Gold, $20,000 if they win silver and $12,000 for bronze.

According to the very rich Dr. Katsuya Takasu, he fell in love with Samson Siasia's men after seeing them surmount financial difficulties to qualify for the semi-final of the football event.

He also stated that he will still reward the team whether they win or not, as according to him it is an act of bravery to advance to the last four of the competition after facing all the challenges they encountered.

“I read about the financial problems affecting the team and I felt the need to make a big contribution.

“I am not doing this for media attention but to motivate a team with an indomitable spirit. I fell in love with the Nigerian team because despite all these problems they are in the semifinals of the Olympics.

“Whether they win or not, I will still donate something to help alleviate the challenges in paying their bonuses and allowances,” Takasu was quoted by BBC.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) were impressed by this gesture but are being careful.

"I have been in direct contact with Mr Takasu and impressed by his gesture," NFF vice-president Seyi Akinwunmi told BBC Sport.

"But we need not get carried away because the integrity of the country is at stake. First we must check about this. Significantly, the team has an important game and we need to focus on that."

A Japanese athlete's attempt to qualify for the Men's Pole Vault at the 2016 Rio Olympics fell short - after his manhood got in the way.

Hiroki Ogita was attempting to clear a height of 5.3 metres in the qualifying rounds on Saturday when his leg - then his penis - came in contact with the bar.

Ogita was only able to clear a height of 5.45 metres in his last round, relegating him to 21st place and ending his Rio campaign.

In the Pole Vault finals Brazilian athlete Thiago da Silva cleared 6.03 meters, an Olympic record, to upset world record holder Renaud Lavillenie of France.

It was Da Silva's highest jump ever by 10cm, earning the host country's second gold of South America's first Olympics. It was also the first athletics gold achieved by a Brazilian man since Joaquim Cruz won the men's 800m at the 1984 Los Angeles Games.

Sam Kendricks took bronze for the United States after clearing 5.85, with Czech Jan Kudlicka and Piotr Lisek of Poland in fourth.

Former FIFA President Havelange Dies At 100

Former FIFA president Joao Havelange has died in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 100, according to reports in Brazil.

Havelange was the first non-European chief of world football's governing body between 1974 and 1998, when he was succeeded by Sepp Blatter and received the title of honorary president.

He resigned from the latter largely ceremonial role in 2013 after a report by FIFA's ethics chairman Hans-Joachim Eckert ruled he had taken bribes as part of a scandal involving the now-defunct International Sports and Leisure (ISL) sports marketing agency.

Havelange competed as an Olympic swimmer for Brazil at Berlin in 1936 and was a member of their 1952 water polo team in Helsinki.

At the Melbourne 1956 Games he was Brazil's chef de mission before joining the International Olympic Committee in 1963.

As the IOC's longest-serving member, Havelange stood down in 2011 with an ethics hearing pending over the ISL affair.

The Olympic Stadium at the on-going Rio Games, which began three months on from his 100th birthday, is named in his honour.

Leicester City Chairman Buys Brand New BMW For Premier League Winning Players

English Premier League champions Leicester City have been handed a handsome reward by club chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Clearly keen to let his squad know how much their efforts to win last season's title were appreciated, the Thai businessman has gifted 19 players brand new BMW i8s.

An impressive sight as they were lined up for the players to collect at the club's home ground, King Power Stadium, on Friday, the cars are worth 105,000 pounds each for a total value of more than $3.6 million.

All 19 cars, hybrid machines capable of a top speed of around 160mp/h (257km/h) were painted in Leicester City blue, with four of last year's squad missing out having already departed the Foxes.

The generous gift comes just two days before the club face FA Cup champions Manchester United in the annual Community Shield clash at Wembley.

Leicester City begin their title defence with an away clash against Hull City on Sunday next week. 

The club shocked the football world by clinching the Premier League for the first time in their 132-year history in May, finishing nine points clear of Arsenal.

FIFA President Arrives Nigeria As Protesters Demand Pinnick's Resignation

The visit of Fifa president Gianni Infantino to Nigeria has been marred by a protest demanding the resignation of Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick over his illegal stay in office and incompetence on Sunday.

The protesters, led by former Nigeria international Emeka Ezeogu, besieged the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, following the arrival of the Fifa boss and  secretary general Fatma Samoura. Fifa executive assistants Mattias Grafstrom and Veron Mosengo-Omba were also part of Infantino's entourage.

The Fifa president and the secretary general landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 4:30pm from Switzerland ahead of his two-day working visit to the country. 

Infantino's visit is his first official appearance in Africa since he was elected as the new Fifa president on February 29, replacing Sepp Blatter. He will also meet with federation heads of several other African countries duing the trip.

Manchester Utd Unveil New Kit

Manchester United have launched their new home kits for upcoming 2016/17 season.

In a statement, the club said: "Adidas and Manchester United have launched the club's new home jersey for the 2016/17 season, taking inspiration from the club's early years as Newton Heath LYR Football Club.

"In the second year of the partnership with Manchester United, Adidas has taken cues from the Club's illustrious history, with a two tone red split design evoking the two-tone Newton Heath kit of 1878."

The home kit was officially launched in China during United's 2016 pre-season tour, and it will be worn for the first time when they take on rivals Manchester City in Beijing on Monday, July 25.

Ronaldo Opens Own “CR7” Hotel

Cristiano Ronaldo inaugurated his own hotel on Friday called 'CR7' after his initials and shirt number, while the airport on his home island of Funchal was renamed in his honour.

Just two weeks after leading Portugal to the Euro 2016 title in France, the national team skipper appeared on a terrace of the red-coloured building overlooking the sea, wearing a white baseball cap.

"It's a little strange. I never could have imagined that I would be a hotelier at the age of 31," said Ronaldo of his hotel which opened for business on July 1.

Meanwhile, the president of the Madeira region, Miguel Albuquerque, said that the local airport would be named in Ronaldo's honour.

On Saturday, Ronaldo will visit his new museum which is situated on the ground floor of his hotel.

A second 'CR7' hotel is due to open in Lisbon later this year with two others planned in Madrid and New York in 2017.

Jose Mourinho Delivers Huge Snub To Chelsea Fan In China

Former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has delivered an emphatic snub to Chelsea by refusing to sign the shirt of his former club.

In two spells over seven years, the Portuguese won the Premier League and League Cup on three occasions and an FA Cup.

But seven months after winning the league in 2015, Mourinho was sacked following a dismal start to last season.

While in China with his United squad on their pre-season tour, Mourinho was asked by a supporter to sign a Blues shirt.

But he flatly refused, shaking his head at the individual as he approached the jersey.

Mourinho is in Shanghai for the first of two United matches in the Far East.

Manchester United Reach Agreement To Sign Paul Pogba For World-Record €110m Fee

Manchester United have reportedly agreed a world-record fee of €110m for the signing of Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

French daily L'Equipe report that two key agreements were made when representatives from the two sides met on Wednesday - Juventus agreeing in principle that Pogba be allowed to leave, and United coming to an agreement on a fee which could reach as high as €120m.

Presently, Gareth Bale is still the most expensive signing of all time following his £85m move from Tottenham to Real Madrid in 2013, but United are set to place a nine-figure offer comprised of money up front, plus add-ons.

Pogba and agent Raiola are reported to be due a 20 per cent bonus from the transfer fee after reaching an agreement with Juventus in their last set of negotiations with the club, and the 23-year-old himself has looked to speed up the moving process after telling Juve of his desire to move on.​

The midfielder joined Juventus in 2012 on a free transfer from United after not being given enough match time in the first team, but has developed into one of the world's finest in his position since joining the Turin giants.

Asked if he'd return to Old Trafford during an interview in the United States last week, Pogba smiled and replied: "I don't know. We'll see, we'll see. For the moment I'm at Juve and I'm happy. I don’t know where I want to go."

United have already added Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to their squad, with Mourinho keen to get his major business tied up as quickly as possible.

Ronaldo buys Bugatti for 2.5million euros to celebrate Euro 2016 victory

In celebration of his country's triumph at the just concluded Euro 2016, Cristiano Ronaldo has boughta new Bugatti at the cost of 2.5 million euros.

The 31-year-old showed off his new purchase on social media and, despite not being able to enjoy it just yet, Ronaldo shared his happiness for having receive his new toy. “The animal has come,” he said.

Very few units of the Bugatti in question have been produced and were only available upon request, so it’s likely Ronaldo had been waiting weeks to receive the car.

Samuel Eto'o charity match in Turkey cancelled

Due to the attempted coup in Turkey, the charity football match organized by Samuel Eto'o which was scheduled for today has been cancelled.

A lot of playing and retired footballers, currently in Antalya, Turkey. were scheduled to feature in Eto'o's charity match scheduled to take place today, July 16th, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of his foundation.

Hazard Eden, Puyol, Michael Essien, Kolo Toure, Kanu Nwankwo, JJ Okocha, AY Comedian, Paw Paw and many others are currently in Turkey.
